Change summary
This release adds the facility for controlling the automatic upgrading in ParagoAgent. In addition it will allow IT Vision to place new versions of ParagoAgent on the live site as a beta release.
Rationale
This website update provides customers with control over the automatic upgrading feature of ParagoAgent, whilst simultaneously giving us the ability to allow customers access to new versions before they are released for testing purposes.

Individual Accounts
By default all accounts are set to use the latest release of ParagoAgent. This update to the Parago system allows the customer to control this. By logging into their account and going to the advanced options for ParagoAgent deployment they can set which version of ParagoAgent they want to use. This affects what is downloaded through the configuration and download parts of the system as well as the automatic upgrade module.
Account Managers
Account managers will be able to set the version for all their accounts. They will have the option of locking their accounts to that version or allowing them to override their choice.
ParagoAgent Release Versioning
A release of ParagoAgent consists of a number of files each of which has an independent version number. When we release a new version it means that one of more of the files has changed. This allows the automatic upgrading module to only download the files that are different to those it already has.
What this means is that when you go to select the version of ParagoAgent to use you will actually be presented with a list of dated releases rather than version numbers. Those dates will expand to show the individual version numbers of the files that make up that release. When browsing the available releases, clicking on one of them will display the associated change announcement.
Beta Releases
This feature also gives us the ability to place a beta version of ParagoAgent on the live website without all customers automatically getting it. When a beta of ParagoAgent is available it will appear in the release list as “Beta”. Everything else will work as per a change to any other release.
